I’m not much of a perfume junkie, but I know what I need when I smell it…
Despite its Instagram-worthy properties, Byredo certainly deserves its praises. I’ve been fixated on this brand for probably over three years now but couldn’t warrant forking out the funds because if I’m being honest, I wear perfume like NEVER. Last Christmas, I voyaged 3.5 hours south to Neiman Marcus in Atlanta and found myself at the Byredo counter. I took a quick whiff of Gypsy Water, Bal D’afrique, and Mojave Ghost and was convinced then that Mojave Ghost was most likely the one for me but I wanted to hold off on an impulsive purchase. The opportunity presented itself yet again during my NYC trek when I stopped by the marvelous Byredo store on Wooster Street so I decided to go all in. With confirmation by my side, Mojave Ghost was no doubt the scent for me.
It’s a unisex perfume described as “Oriental Floral”… Top notes are ambrette (musk mallow) and sapodilla; middle notes are violet, sandalwood and magnolia; base notes are ambergris and cedar.
I’m not even going to act like I know what that means… All I know is Mojave Ghost suits me mostly because I’m not really an overt feminine woman. I lean on the tomboy side – a little undone and probably more careless than I should be. Mojave Ghost adds that feminine innuendo I can probably use. No regrets since!
