There are so many Spring trends to look forward to right now – 70s vibes, bright statement pieces, lace-up details, chunky shoes, utility wear, fringe, etc, but sometimes it’s best to stick with what you know works and not be so moved by what’s going on in the masses. For me, especially at the beginning of Spring, that means crisp white pieces paired with other neutral tones. A classic muscle tee will never be too boring and really brings forth an appropriate casual element. Anything with an interesting hemline speaks modern right now….this has been a big deal over the last couple of seasons but I think retailers and their vendors have finally absorbed this “desire” and are coming out with pieces to really feed the trend. Although I’m a little obsessed with the idea of donning unexpected (and even a little unattractive) shoes, a classic pump (esp leopard print) stands the test of time so even at a time when “sleek heels” are being phased out, you’ll never look ridiculous in the crowd.
I’ve never really considered myself someone trendy or fashion-forward, just someone who is highly self-aware. So my point was wear what makes sense for yourself even if it’s not moving with what’s going on in the markets.
