I’m shocking myself quite a bit this year because I’m actually clearing out product!
I shared quite a bit of empties a few weeks ago, but have four more things to add to that list. I figured I should just start a “Things I Finished” column… There’s some motivation to get shit done.
Anyway, beauty products can be so fickle – you might like something within the first week of using it and then as months pass, you realize it isn’t as great as you thought it to be. And that’s why the best opinion is always the one at the end…
Dr. Hauschka Quince Day Cream – Every time I can get this stuff on sale from Gilt, which is quite often, I buy tubes of it because it’s quite expensive, but sooo good. This is my top moisturizer pick for the winter time when my skin gets uber sensitive, dry, and patchy. I find it really soothing and nourishing. I also love the fresh, crisp scent that lingers as I massage it into my skin. It just makes me look so much healthier and alive without that greasy effect. I also like that it’s comprised of all natural ingredients, which don’t often yield positive results for me… I have 2 backups right now as we speak 🙂
Mizon Egg White Bubble Cleanser – I’ve never endorsed foaming cleansers because they make my skin feel even drier and irritated, so when I tried this one by Mizon, I was taken aback. It foams and lathers like crazy (not a bad thing), but is so soft and creamy on the skin. I never experienced any tightness or discomfort after using it. I used this as my second cleanse because it doesn’t remove makeup, but it always did a great job making me feel really fresh and clean.
Aromatica Sea Daffodil Aqua Toner – I really liked this toner in the beginning and then I started to feel like it was generic – nothing special. I think it was because I got a hold of it in March, which is when my skin was still dry, so this product was really delicate and hydrating. Then summer hit and I wanted a little bit more action, but it still delivered the same soft results (duh!). So two main takeaways here, this makes a really great toner for anyone with dry/sensitive skin when temperatures drop, and it removes all traces of makeup as expected. It was good, but I don’t think it’s holy grail for me.
Swisspers Premium Cotton Rounds (not pictured) – I don’t know about you, but the bulk of cotton rounds just fall apart on me and then leave pieces of white fluff everywhere on my face. So, when I discovered Swisspers, which I haven’t seen in stores, I was thrilled! Now I can remove my makeup and apply toner without cotton trails… They’re definitely pricer than the others, but worth every cent. They’re really soft and don’t require tugging at all.
