I often heard elite influencers lament about the semblance of their blogs and how much they grew to despise them. If you didn’t know, that was usually the catalyst for extended vacancies. It seemed like nonsense to me as I always admired and respected the work they delivered. But a few months ago, I found myself sprawled across the same situation – uninspired & unfulfilled.
Not only that but I’ve been enduring some radical life changes – all of which were sufficient enough to disconnect me from most aspects of my life.
Every time I visited LE-JOLIE.com, I loathed it. The further back I dug, the more blinded I became, and it resulted in this hiatus that left me in deep turmoil… I hate posting just to post. I hate shooting just to shoot. I hate doing anything just to do something. And I think this goes to prove that if you’re not crazy in love with what you’re creating and delivering, no one else will be either because it lacks the energy that draws people in.
During this period though, I deluged in total rumination as I often do and spent countless hours reading, pinning, and browsing – just kind of re-digging for my identity. Exploring that thing I was missing. I wanted a clean slate in every piece of my life as I had already began creating in the most unkempt part of it – and so I did. I cogitated over and over on what I’ve been doing with LE JOLIE versus what I really want to do with it. For whatever reason, I lost sight of it – and probably because I’ve always had a universal idea but never muffled my mind enough to let the details break through. I even considered deleting my archives but decided not to because it’s evidence of my persistent journey in writing, photographing, and creating…
So yet again, here’s my nth attempt at it.
And what better place to start than NYC! I look forward to reconnecting with readers old & new. Although LE JOLIE will always be a work in progress, I’m alright with continuing from here.
