Damn January – something is pretty backwards about this month. It’s full of resolutions, promises, and changes, yet the road to recovery seems so freakin’ slow. I knew I shouldn’t have succumbed to the masses and instead reserve my goals for the following month just like my instincts told me to. Coming out of a heavily social December and poor eating habits, I still haven’t recuperated from the damages done. #OldAgeProblems I suppose and being the the introvert that I am, it seems I’m still in dire need of hibernation. I feel like it’s going to take light years to return to my normal self. But in my defense, my star sign, which I’m not even entirely sure I believe, professes that my energy levels in all aspects of life will pretty much be out of whack this first quarter. I’m not looking forward to it because I’m already feeling pretty shitty as predicted by the aforementioned. Anyway, there goes my incoherent rant about what’s been up with me feeling weird and lowly. Can I just crawl into a rabbit hole and hide?
On the topic of blogs though there is one thought that perpetually crosses my mind and even more lately than before – what makes a successful blogger? With only a select few at the top, who don’t seem to be going anywhere by the way, is it still even possible for newcomers to enter the premise and rise? And if they do, what makes them so singular and beguiling? We’ll save that for another post.
Random babbles aside, I finally made the, 5-year-overdue, leather jacket investment! I bought this Oak NYC LA Rider Jacket right after Christmas, which I can’t seem to find anywhere now. I’d been stalking All Saints for a while, but that lent no results. End result though, I couldn’t be happier with what I found. The primary thing I look for in a leather jacket is the fit. It’s gotta be fitted and that’s such a pain in the ass to come by on a petite frame. This very criteria made the Oak jacket so perfect for me – the length of the jacket and sleeves (not too cropped nor too long) were unexpectedly sublime; there were also just enough details to take it from boring to head turning! To more retail therapy, I bought these Topshop lace-up pumps and they’ve proven to be classic! Next on my list are these frumpy ass ones that I haven’t exactly figured out how to fuse into my wardrobe…
