Has this product already been praised too much? I’m always afraid to fall into a hype after going through several let downs, but in this case, it worked out exquisitely. Two things I didn’t own at the time of my purchase: 1. A bronzer with slight shimmer (‘coz I was all about that matte contour) and 2. A yellow-based powder highlighter so in my mind, this was the perfect thing – killed two birds with one stone. Also, as a huge Charlotte Tilbury fan (even prior to Lisa Eldridge’s introduction), the CT Filmstar Bronze & Glow had been on my wanted list for far too long and the long awaited pause was due to none other than the price point. So if you’re having the same hesitation, just go for it since it does not disappoint.
While I still love my Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, I find it just slightly underwhelming in the summer when I’m in the mood to look like a sun goddess (kidding), but seriously when I just want to fake a been-in-the-sun kinda glow (hence my crave for the faint shimmer). I’ve been picking this product up non-stop. And although I’m no MUA, I am working on a few brides this summer, which I’ve used both the highlighter and sculpting powder during trials, engagement sessions, etc – the product photographs beautifully! A few reviews noted the intensity of the highlighter, but I disagree. I don’t find it giving off a harsh disco ball effect (maybe unless you’re super pale), otherwise, both colors/tones complement one another in the most perfect way possible. Craving fulfilled!
