We aren’t exactly there yet, but tonight marks the start of spring forward and that means the end of our dreary winter is near. I don’t know about you, but I’m beyond ready to be sun kissed. Spring still warrants light layers of some kind here on the east coast so if you’re really looking for a few key pieces to jumpstart your trans-Spring wardrobe, I’d suggest starting with an updated utility jacket (1, 2, 3) – updated in the sense of a newer silhouette – wide and floaty, which can easily be the finishing touch to any outfit. It’s likely that you already own at least one so if you’re more so looking for a way to keep it fresh, try cinching it at the waist with a wide whiskey colored belt (pair it with super black ankle skinnies and extra strappy heels and voila – you have yourself an Isabel Marant aesthetic).
And if you only need one statement piece to take you through the season, go for something fringe (1, 2, 3). It’s definitely bold enough to turn heads – trust me, I’ve done it with the fringe skirt above more than once.
For something on the more basic side, tan colored booties (1, 2, 3) that can be worn year round are always a good idea for the obvious reason that they’re the perfect effortless touch to summer dresses, mini skirts, lace shorts, denim anything, crisp whites, and jeans of all kind. I lucked out with the Zara ones pictured this past season in the most perfect khaki, olive greenish type color and although they were a winter purchase, I’m taking them everywhere with me in the warm months to come.
