OUAI Wave Spray.
OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray.
OUAI Finishing Creme.
My quest for gritty, lived-in, piecey hair began about 12 years ago…
I mentioned the Wave Spray being a top discovery of 2016 here, and have zero regrets. It’s my favorite from the line for 1. being easy breezy to use and 2. keeping my hair nice and beachy sans the crunch. I love salt sprays because they excel in preserving texture, but they dry the shit out of my already dry AF strands. The Wave Spray has the miraculous ability to prevent that whilst delivering the full results of a salt spray as promised. I just picked up a full size this week because that’s how major of a necessity it was.
You won’t be surprised if you’ve taken note of how intently my pin-straight mane fixates to my scalp – not V pretty to say the least. I’ve experimented with insurmountable products, methods, and brands up to this point – call me hypercritical, but my hair just doesn’t cooperate. That means I’m exorbitantly apprehensive when products debut promising massive volume and texture. So when Master of Effortless Hair, Jen Atkin, intro’d Ouai Haircare, I immediately assumed, “another one of those”…
But like a few things in life, I sometimes give into the hype (i.e. Glossier) without making a full-fledged jump.

OUAI Finishing Creme
The Finishing Creme is my least used so far, but that’s because I care most about volume and texture. After I use the duo above, I don’t even want to add anything else to the mix. I can see how those of you with thick and/or frizzy hair might love it, but this is one I probably can and will live without.
Overall, I’ve never been one to splurge on high-end hair products, but I honestly don’t mind when it comes to Ouai Haircare. Totally worth the hype & the buck if your hair means anything to you…
I don’t do much to my hair most days, but these two definitely live on my top shelf when I need to impress.
